The 'Cheryl Anderson' Lead.....
Hi everyone - I think this is important if I am right but the honest truth is that I am not sure I am.
This has to do with a tip from someone claiming that Cheryl Anderson was telling people that 'Paul killed Kristin' even before she was reported missing.
I have mentioned this in the past but never to the degree that I am doing here on this password protected page. Read this over and let me know what you think.
It is OK to tell me that I am wrong. I just want 'other eyes' on this because if this is true - then it is obviously a gigantic clue.
I say 'gigantic' because even though it was sent to me anonymously, I think I know who sent it. Her name is Alexis Gerboff Braden and the rest of this page lays out me reasonings as to 'why' I think she authored this anonymous tip.
If it was 'Alexis', then it should be a simple matter of getting SLO to interview her and if she admits to being the author - then for the first time, we will have a 'first-person' eye-witness account of a person with knowledge (Cheryl Anderson) who knew Kristin wa deceased before she was reported missing.
If that turns out to be true - then we can hopefully finally get the answers as to what happened on 5/25/96.
I obviously have zero interest in tying Alexis to this if I am wrong because she REALLY does appear to be a normal, sweet, decent human being.

- Sheriff Ian Parkinson holds press conference announcing that a new clue has led them to believe that Kristin may be buried on the hillside behind CalPoly.

September 11th, 2016
- Three days later, Alexis posts another post about Kristin.
- Keep in mind: a)she is 2,000 miles away in Hinsdale, Illinois and b) this is over 20 years AFTER Kristin vanished.
- Her posts line up perfectly with all the activity going on at CalPoly regarding Kristin.
- That proves absolutely nothing other than she is interested in Kristin's case, just as you and I are as well.

Anonymous Tip - September 12th, 2016
- Read the tip. It is basically a 'defense' of Cheryl Anderson's character.
- This 'tip' arrives in my Inbox the day after Alexis Gerboff Braden is posting on Facebook after not having posted about Kristin since the founding of FB in 2004.
- The tip reveals the following major clue:
- That Cheryl knew Kristin was deceased before she was even reported missing.

"I was surprised to see that anyone was still suspecting Cheryl of being involved with Kristin's disappearance and probable murder. I and many other girls were with Cheryl the next day (or day after that) when Kristin was missing, and from what she said to all of us I'm sure that she had nothing to do with it, that she regrets leaving Kristin with Paul, and that Paul Flores killed Kristin. I have not talked to Cheryl since the end of that school year.
I can't remember exactly what day the conversation happened. I know it was Saturday or Sunday because I had been out of town on Friday. The news about Kristin being missing had not yet hit the public. I don't think the police were treating it as a missing persons case yet, Cheryl talking about it was the first any of us had heard of it. Anyway, Cheryl was almost crying and was extremely upset about Kristin being missing. She was very distraught. She told all of us that she had been walking back with Kristin and that Paul had said he'd "take care of her" the rest of the way.
Cheryl told us, "Well, he took care of her all right. He killed her!"
I don't remember any of the rest of the exact words any more, but basically Cheryl deeply regretted leaving Kristin with him. She felt horrible about it right away, she knew what happened, and there was nothing she could do to take it back. I'm sure she's never stopped blaming herself or questioning why she left her like that. Probably a bit drunk and had poor judgment that goes with that, but I'm just speculating about the drinking. She also said (not exact words) that Paul had kept trying to get her to leave them during the walk home, but that she felt like Paul was a creep and she kept refusing, but finally when they were close to Kristin's red brick, Cheryl left them and walked back to Sierra Madre.
For the mindset of her regret, understand that it's not like Cheryl felt like Paul was a great guy and that Kristin would be safe, she KNEW that Paul was creepy and that Paul was trying to get rid of her to be alone with Kristin, and that Kristin was drunk or out of it, and she finally (for some reason) ignored her feelings and left them. One tiny slip up in judgment and Kristin's dead, and nobody would do anything about it. The regret from that must be terrible, but I don't think she should blame herself. Remember that Cheryl is not the person who murdered Kristin, Cheryl was the person who tried to get her home, then had a lapse in judgment. The murderer (almost certainly Paul) is the one who is at fault for this. SO MANY college kids there walk around drunk at night, both before Kristin disappeared and after. It's a "safe" town and a sleepy campus, so nothing to worry about, right?
Who would ever have guessed that something like that would really happen? We NEVER thought a fellow student would do something like this. We used to worry a bit about the people getting out of prison, especially after this when the other girl got murdered by somebody on probation or parole, but we didn't worry about other students. I can't blame Cheryl, not after knowing her and seeing her so upset over it. I don't think she knows anything else except what she's already said. I haven't heard of her story ever changing.
I didn't know Cheryl well, but from everything I saw she was a quieter girl who was overall nice to people. She was often the quiet girl next to a more outgoing and (forgive me, but it's true) prettier friend. She wasn't at all the kind of person who I'd expect to be involved in something like this. We were all shocked when she was telling us. We never thought anything would happen there.
Cheryl helped people, she thought she was helping Kristin, and then she messed up and left her, and I think the guilt over leaving her with him was probably too much. That's my guess as to why she has not talked publicly. Self blame. I have enormous sympathy for Kristin's family. I also have sympathy for Cheryl, as a kid who tried to help, messed it up, and has to live with letting her friend get murdered. This was upsetting for all of us who were there when it began to be known that it had just happened, I can understand why Cheryl wants to put it behind her and not talk about it.
I guess if you have not been through something like this, that's hard to understand. I already told this to the FBI back when they were interviewing everybody who had been on campus. - Result: Cook County, Illinois.
- Hindale is in Cook County, Illinois.
Relevant Facts about Alexis Gerboff Braden
- Alexis went to same High School as Kristin - Lincoln High School in Stockton, Ca,
- Alexis was a year younger than Kristin.
- Alexis also went to Cal Poly.
- Alexis lived in Santa Lucia dorm at CalPoly.
- Same dorm - opposite wing.
- Alexis dated a gay named Jeff Barnett.
- Jeff also attended CalPoly
- Jeff also lived in Santa Lucia.
- Jeff lived in the EXACT SAME dorm room as Paul Flores the following quarter.
- Alexis told us that his room 128 Santa Lucia received a 100% complete makeover. None of the other rooms in the dorm received this special attention. ONLY ROOM 128.
- Jeff was even called into the admin offices one day where CalPoly officials told him they were legally bound to inform him that a serious crime may have been committed in his room but that he need not worry because they completely replaced everything in the room.
Mystery question I don't have the answer to:
- Alexis was a year younger than Kristin so while Kristin was a freshman, Alexis was still a Senior at Lincoln High School up in Stockton.
- I have checked online databases but cannot place her at CalPoly on May 25th, 1996.
- Another 'Kristin' Supporter with access to databases tells me she was there in 1996 but it looks like later that year.
- So - maybe she was visiting the campus the weekend Kristin vanished. She was dating Jeff Barnett so maybe she was there to see him and attend parties like all the kids do.
- I DON'T HAVE THAT ANSWER.
Introducing Clark Baird
- Clark is important.
- Clark also attended Lincoln High School.
- Shared some classes with Kristin.
- He is FURIOUS as to not only what happened to her but the aftermath as well.
- Clark has spent a great deal of his own money trying to find Kristin.
- He even chartered a helicopter one day to fly him over the 5 cities area to help him assess the geography of the area looking for any kind of clue.
- I share that with you just so you know his dedication.
- Clark is also very close friends with Alexis Gerboff Braden.
- It was Clark who initially told us about Aleixis
Reaching out to Alexis
- Once I saw that the tip came in from Hinsdale, Illinois, I naturally thought of Alexis since I had notice her posts and was lucky enough to notice 'Hinsdale'.
- I messaged Alexis asking her to please call me.
- I had spoken with her before as she shared with me her story about dating the guy that lived in the same room as Paul.
- She was the one who told us about the remodel.
- So when I messaged Alexis, I just assumed she would contact me within a few hours.
- She did not. So I messaged her gain...still nothing.
- I was sharing all this with Denise Smart and we decided it is best probably to ask Clark Baird to help us since he really cared about Kristin and he was close friends with Alexis.
- I had spoken with Clark several times and some conversations were very long as we talked all about Kristin's case.
The Clark Baird Phone Call
- I called Clark and basically told him the complete truth.
- I shared with him everything I am now sharing with you.
- I then asked Clark for his help with contacting Alexis.
- We just wanted to confirm if Alexis was the one who sent the tip.
- Clark said that 'of course he would help'. "I'll call her' he told me.
- That was the last time I heard from Clark. Well over a year ago now.
- Denise even asked me to ask Clark to call her.'
- He said he would but he never did.
- HIs actions are just a 1,000% mystery because he was such an avid Kristin Supporter.
Now You Know What I Know About This Lead.
What do you think? Do you think that is was Alexis who sent in that tip? If both she and Clark are suddenly not wanting to help - what do we do? I have known this for over two years now. I have sent this to Sheriff PArkinson but that was the last that I heard of it.

- Alexis Garbeff Braden dated Jeff Barnett while at Cal Poly.
- Barnett had 128 Santa Lucia the quarter after Flores.
- He says entire room was brand new. No other rooms enjoyed this special treatment.
- Cal Poly had a meeting with him, told him about May 25th, told him not to worry because they remodeled the entire room.
- Not sure what value this is to you or James Murphy but you should know about it
- Both Jeff and Alexis are more than happy to go on the record should you want to pursue this.
- Clark Baird is the go-to person on this. He attended Lincoln High School with both Kristin and Alexis. He was the one who spoke with Jeff Barnett. (Yesterday).
