'Roy' from the Farmers Market....
In the early 2000's, I was at the Thursday Evening Farmers's Market in SLO with a sign promoting Kristin's case when I was approached by a man named 'Roy'.
Roy had come to the Central Coast to do some work for Verizon as a sub-contractor and he was assigned to a local Verizon warehouse in San Luis Obispo County. He was at work early one morning when Ruben Flores, (Verizon employee and father of suspect Paul Flores), walked straight up to him and, in an unfriendly voice, said, "I guess you know who I am?"
Roy told me he was caught off guard and felt very uncomfortable. He told me that he looked at Ruben and said, "Well, it;'s kind of hard not to know who you are."
Ruben leaned into Roy and sternly said: "That bitch deserved to die!" That is all he said. He then turned and walked away.
Roy then got very emotional with me. He was angry that Ruben would say that to him and he was almost 'apologetic' because he wished he would have gotten back into Flores' face and lit him up.
"I was caught off-guard", Dennis, "Roy said to me." I should have done more that day but I didn't.
I thanked Roy for sharing his story with me and I reported it to the Sheriff's Department but I never heard any updates about it.
